Red Lake is located at the end of Highway 105 approximately 5 hours driving time north of the U.S / Canada border at International Falls, Minnesota. Once across the border at International Falls/Fort Frances, go east on Highway 11 for approximately 30 km (18 miles), then head north on Highway 502. When you reach Highway 17, turn west (left) heading towards Vermilion Bay for 45 km (28 miles). At Vermilion Bay, take Highway 105 north 172 km (106 miles) to Highway 125 (just south of the town) to the Chukuni River bridge. Our floatplane base is located just past the bridge on the right hand side of the highway. If you wish to fly commercially to Red Lake, you can arrange your flights through Red Lake Travel Service at 1-800-465-3305. You can also fly your private plane into the Red Lake airport (5,000 ft paved runway), and take a taxi to the floatplane base at the Chukuni River for your flight to Sportsman’s Lodge.
